Sarah Volkman, ScD, is Principal Research Scientist in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of Nursing at Simmons College. Dr. Volkman is an expert on the mechanisms of resistance to anti-malarial drugs; her research centers on understanding genetic variation among malaria parasites. She is currently working toward the development of a genetic Diversity Map for P. falciparum.
